801 South Street is seeking an individual to fill the Maintenance Technician position. We are seeking a reliable individual who is hardworking and willing to learn a variety of skills, working in close partnership with the Chief of Maintenance, honing their skills for development and potential promotional opportunities. This is an advertisement for a permanent, full-time (40 hours/week) position with pay that begins at $15.00 per hour with an opportunity to increase after the 90 day probation period as well as passing the drug testing and background check. You will be expected to:

• Learn technical knowledge and develop new skills in electrical, HVAC, and painting/finishing, etc.
• Complete some custodial cleaning work as needed.
• Provide support and back-up for all departments as needed by management
• Perform entry to mid-level break-fix preventative maintenance. This includes but not limited to: Adjustments of non-functional parts of devices and control instruments to sustain and/or improve operations. The repairing or replacing of defective parts by reconditioning or repairing machine tools.
• Handling of lite-duty power tools, hand tools, painting equipment, and pressure washing, etc.

Essential Functions

• Assists in performing entry-level trade work, such as Painting, Carpentry, Electrical, etc.
• Performs a variety of basic facilities tasks as requested by managers and maintenance requests
• Test, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair machines and equipment
• Sets up and operates all tools and equipment necessary to perform assigned work.
• Identify needs parts, supplies, and repair items
• Provide support and backup for all departments as needed by management.
• Be aware of maintenance industry standards
• Responds timely, appropriately, and courteously to emergencies
• Participates in and attends all required in-service training sessions 
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations

• Be 18 years or older
• Be able to speak, read, and write the English language sufficiently

• Have experience with basic hand and power tools in an industrial setting. Mid-level maintenance experience preferred
• Be available to work from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM on any scheduled day
• Have regular, reliable, predictable attendance
• Not be afraid of getting dirty or completing labor-intensive work.
